Intended Audience

Experienced commercial drivers looking to transition into a CDL instructor or corporate trainer role.

TTT Core

Excel Driver Services’ Train the Trainer (TTT) Core program is designed to provide commercial driving professionals with the instructional skills, teaching techniques, and evaluation methods needed to train the next generation of CDL drivers. This course builds a strong foundation for trainers to effectively communicate, assess, and mentor new drivers in a structured learning environment. Participants will gain expertise in adult learning principles, student evaluation, and hands-on coaching, ensuring that training sessions are engaging, effective, and compliant with FMCSA standards. The course is structured into Classroom, Lab, and Practical Instructor Training.

Requirements for this Program

  1. Must have a valid Class A CDL or Class B CDL
  2. Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience
  3. Strong communication and leadership skills
  4. Ability to pass a background check and drug test

Train the Trainer Program

The Train the Trainer program is designed to help experienced drivers become certified CDL instructors. This course equips CDL instructors with the tools to lead students through Class A CDL and Class B CDL training programs. With a focus on teaching methodology, safety standards, and communication, instructors gain the confidence to guide trainees through both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction.

Train the Trainer Certification

Excel’s Train the Trainer course prepares qualified drivers to transition into the role of CDL instructor across a variety of training environments. CDL instructors learn how to deliver consistent, standards-based instruction while supporting students through their Class A CDL or Class B CDL licensing journey. This program reinforces leadership, accountability, and the instructional skills required to produce safe and knowledgeable commercial drivers.
